"Wandering Gabaldon: A Journey Through Hidden Wonders"

"Wandering Gabaldon: A Journey Through Hidden Wonders"

08/24/25

Gabaldon is one of the most popular tourist spots in Nueva Ecija. Many people go there not only to see the beauty of the mountains but also to swim and cool off in the river called Bato Ferry. The water is cold and clear, and you can also see the green surroundings and enjoy the fresh air that gives comfort and happiness. Visitors often say the view is very nice and wonderful, so it is not a surprise that many want to come back to enjoy again the natural beauty of the place.

We planned a trip to Gabaldon with my Friends last August 24. That day became one of the happiest journeys of my life, not because of how far we traveled, but because of how much fun we had along the way. During our trip, we didn’t mind the long distance since we truly appreciated every mountain and scenic view we passed. At one point, one of our companions encountered a problem with their vehicle, but we were able to fix it right away because we came prepared with the tools we needed for any possible mishap.

When we finally arrived, all our tiredness disappeared because we were welcomed by the beautiful scenery and the cool river. There were also many food stalls and resting areas where people could eat, relax, and take pictures. Visiting Gabaldon is more fun when you are with friends because you can enjoy the beauty of nature together and swim in the river.
On our way home, however, bad weather greeted us. Heavy rain and strong winds forced us to stop for a while. But a few hours passed, the rain still hasn't stopped, so we decided to continue our ride to go home. After a long trip using our bicycles, we arrive home safely, carrying with us not only wonderful memories but also valuable lessons from our trip. It was more than just fun, it was an experience full of meaning and learning.

“THE SOUL IN A BOWL: THE JOURNEY OF MUNGGO”

“THE SOUL IN A BOWL: THE JOURNEY OF MUNGGO”

There are meals that nourish the body, and there are dishes that feed the soul. For many Filipinos, munggo guisado (mung bean stew) is both. It is the kind of food that brings us back to rainy afternoons, payday Fridays, or even a simple family dinner where the highlight isn’t the feast, but the togetherness at the table.

There are foods that are not just cooked but also come with a story. One of these is munggo, the humble bean that turns into a vibrant dish on every Filipino family’s table. At first glance, these tiny beans may seem ordinary. But when simmered with patience and seasoned with love, they become a bowl of comfort and warmth. Thick, flavorful, and full of nutrients, munggo is like a mother’s embrace on a rainy day, or a grandmother’s tale shared while the family eats together.

Munggo has many faces. Some cook it with pork for added richness, others add shrimp for a touch of the sea’s sweetness, while some choose to keep it purely with vegetables like malunggay, bitter gourd, or squash. Often, it is paired with fried fish, a timeless combination in Filipino cuisine.

Beyond its taste, munggo is a symbol of practicality and care. It is affordable, easy to cook, yet enough to feed the whole family. That is why, despite the rise of new food trends, munggo continues to hold a strong place in our kitchens and memories.

In every bowl of munggo, it is not only the stomach that is filled, but also the heart. Because munggo is not just food, it is a reminder that the true joy of dining lies in togetherness, not in extravagance.

                         "A Sunset to Remember"

September 10/2025

The sunset is more than just a view of the sun going down it is a symbol of endings and new beginnings. It reminds us that despite the day’s fatigue and storms, there is beauty waiting in the final moments. The shades of orange, gold, and red that cover the sky seem to say that every ending carries peace and hope.

September 10, 2025, As I was walking home from school, I waited for transportation, but since there were no more rides available, I decided to just walk home because I knew I could manage it even though it was quite far. On my way, I happily walked while admiring the beautiful scenery around me. When I was near our home, a beautiful and reddish sunset caught my eyes.

September 10/2025

In my amazement, I quickly took out my cellphone to capture it in photos, and with every shot I took, I felt a sense of comfort while gazing at the beauty of nature. In my whole life, it was the first time I had ever seen such a breathtaking view right in front of our home—surrounded by a lovely environment with rice fields and trees. It was the most beautiful sunset I had seen this year, which made me appreciate the beauty of our nature even more.
